FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Short answers on reefer service across British Columbia and Alberta.
Reefer trucking is moving freight in a trailer with its own cooling unit. We can hold anything from -20°C frozen to +25°C controlled ambient for the whole trip. It's how produce, dairy, wine, meat, and pharma get from point A to point B without spoiling.
Three ways: the form at valleyfreshexpress.ca/get-a-quote, a call to (672) 335-9541, or an email to dispatch@valleyfreshexpress.ca. We come back within 2 hours on weekdays. If it's urgent, call dispatch any time and they can price it on the spot.
We cover the whole Lower Mainland: Vancouver, Burnaby, Richmond, Surrey, Langley, Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Delta, Coquitlam, plus smaller municipalities in between. Pickups and drops at warehouses, DCs, stores, or farms.
0°C to 4°C for fresh meat, dairy, and seafood. Other ranges on request.
Yes, both. Reefer LTL means you share trailer space with other loads at the same temp. It's cheaper when you only have a few pallets, which is why smaller producers and seasonal shippers use it. Reefer FTL gives you the whole trailer, direct from A to B, with no intermediate stops.
Yes. Scheduled reefer runs from the Okanagan to Edmonton and Calgary. Kelowna to Calgary is about 6 to 7 hours, Kelowna to Edmonton 8 to 9. From Vancouver it's 9 to 10 hours to Calgary and 10 to 12 to Edmonton. Temperature monitoring and GPS run the whole way.
